Cooperative Learning (CL)



Cooperative Learning is working together to accomplish shared goals. Within cooperative situations, individuals seek outcomes that are beneficial to themselves and beneficial to all other group members.
Instructional use of small groups through which students work together to attain the goals. As follows:
§  Small groups
§  Heterogeneous
Positive interpendence
Linked with others
Cannot succeed unless they do



What is looks like
Heads together
Talking about the work
Sharing ideas/answers
Encouraging each other
Collaboration
Feedback
Celebration of completion


Individual Accountability
How learners are responsible with his/her group
Have to master the material each person (the students should think ‘us’ not ‘me’)

The group achieve their goals
Set new goals for next session.
In this method students make some group, like in picture below:

Benefits
Teacher is not only provider of knowledge
Students are active participants.


Conclusion
Cooperative Learning is working together to accomplish shared goals, this method often used in classroom, in this method student will easy communication with another student, and then can add knowledge.
