Whole Language

·         Whole language is a theory of language instruction that is developed to help young children learn to read.

·         Focus on components
Grammar
Vocabulary
Word recognition
Particular the teaching of “phonics”

·         In whole language, language use is always in a social context, and this applies to both oral and written language to first and second.

·         In whole language, there are two learning activities

1.      Prepare the text and exercises to practise individual reading skill.
2.      Individual and small group reading and writing. 

·         Conclusion
After we learn about whole language, we know that the whole language movement is not a teaching method but an approach to learning that sees learning. Whole language focus on components, like grammar, vocabulary, word recognition, and also particular the teaching of phonics. In whole language, language use is always in a social context, and this applies to both oral and written language to first and second. And then In whole language, there are two learning activities. The first is Prepare the text and exercises to practise individual reading skill. And the second is individual and small group reading and writing.
